Fair time = fun time! (and LOTS of pictures!!

So these last few weekends have been pretty fun for us. We love going to the fair and had the opportunity to do that quite a bit in the past two weeks. The Twin Falls county fair came and we had to make this one better than last year.... which has a bit of a story to it.... last year I "dumped" Stewart after our fair date. I wasn't ready to get married, have babies etc... (so I thought then :). So this year we had a WAY better time! We went to the alligator show, the hypnotist show, rode the ferris wheel, and ate mini doughnuts!

At the hypnotist show one of the girls that got hypnotized was one of our Ward's young Women. the girl on the right (Keisha) was hilarious. At this point he's getting ready to turn them all back to normal and have them remember all the crazy things they did, but right here they were being SO dissapointed because they spent $1,000 to be in the show and they were convinced that it was HORRIBLE! Keisha is pretty sassy anyways so this was pretty funny.

We also were able to go to the Eastern Idaho State fair. I have never been before and Wally was showing cows, so we thought we would take the opportunity to go check it out and see why Wally really likes cow shows. It was fun to see him get excited over cleaning up the cows (and cleaning up after them ;) He did a great job showing the cows he was assigned (even though he got all of the "crazy" cows :)

This made me see just how much alike Spencer and Wally are.... they really act alike!

This is just a cute picture I snapped of the Haven Maid Dairy men. All four of them were leaning up against the fence watching the judging, but thanks to the bald guy I couldn't get a very good shot of all four. But I still thought this was priceless.

So... somehow, Stewart got pulled into this job.... After the cows are all cleaned up for the show they're REALLY careful to keep them clean (including catching and wiping crap :) So they knew this cow was getting ready to take a crap and they pulled Stewart into doing the dirty deed of catching... look at the pictures below... they are GREAT!!! Made me laugh so hard!

So this is how I know Stewart will be completely capable of changing diapers... I think diaper duty will be a piece of cake compared to this ;)

And look! he knows how to wipe it clean too! Poor guy... but it's still funny :)I don't even think he knew I was watching this whole sequence, but when he was done he turned around and smiled at me... I just happened to have the camera in my hot little hands... This is not a posed picture:)
At the Twin Falls County fair I was reminded how scary ferris wheels are. They are really tippy and open and at some points in the circle it feels a little scary. So at the Eastern Idaho Fair we had to ride this gondola thingy. It was a lot higher but not as scary... and it seemed to be a lot shorter of a ride.

Look at the rides... at at how many people aren't at the fair yet.... by the time we got off the gondola and were on our way back to the cow barns we literally had to fight our way through the oncoming crowd! Made me glad we went early and left mid-afternoon!!

Baby Blessing in Rexburg

This weekend we were able to go to Rexburg for my little nephew's baby blessing. It was fun to be with all our family and have the excitement of a brand new little baby. Congrats to Jason and Cheryll and their brand new baby boy. This weekend made me so excited to have our own baby... now we really can't wait!!

Cheryll's little sisters Erin Faye and Tiffany. While the grown ups were busy fawning over the baby and taking pictures some of the kids got bored. Thanks to the immense amount of rain that was coming down in Rexburg on Sunday there was a plentiful amount of snails!! I didn't know that we had snails that big around here... but the little girls found them... a whole lot of them!!!

So like I said earlier, some of the kids got bored... including me and Stewart. This church was a fun one though... it had poles, and we had a camera ;) I didn't post our pole dancing pictures (I'll save those for when I need some serious blackmail :) just kidding. But we did have a little bit of fun. With my hilarious little brother as our photographer we had our own little photo shoot. Between Jon and Stewart, we had some pretty good laughs and a lot of fun!!

Girls Camp

So Girls Camp was a few weeks ago and being a young Womens leader I had the opportunity to go. It was a good week full of hiking, swimming and singing camp songs (over and over again :) The other really good thing about camp was that Stewart was able to go with us. We needed a good priesthood leader and he was able to go for a few days. I really enjoyed having him there and I think everyone else did too!

One of the girls' favorite things to do was hear all of the leaders "love" stories. This one (told by brother Madson) seemed to go on for a looonngg time... well he did spend 3 years chasing his wife :)

On our hike we seemed to split into two groups... the ones who walked incredibly fast and the rest of us who walked at a human pace. I was one of the human ones (of course) but it was actually fun to see the girls who enjoyed the hike. This is Lacie Teske, the bishop's daughter. She was soo cute on the hike. She just loved to find and hold little bugs or plants along the way.

While we were at camp we worked on a humanitarian aid project making baby hats to take to the hospital. During our certifying and "singing" times Stewart just picked up a hat in progress and started working away. It was cute to see him in the rocking chair knitting a baby hat. When he was done he was so proud!

More of the Little Things...

Life is full of the little things. Big or small, the good things in life really start to add up and make you see how lucky you really are! During my short break between semesters of school a lot of good little things have happened. I am truly blessed and glad to be able to have such a great life!

On the Sunday we went to Hazelton for Blair & Lanae Gerratt's mission farewell we went out to Dietrich afterwards. We took the hidden valley route and ran into a stampede!! I always have to take pictures when we get caught in the middle of people moving animals... The freak inside me finds it terribly exciting! This was even more exciting considering we were in the middle of nowhere and the scenery was starting to all look the same... so this really made me excited :)

Our first cherry tomato from our little plant on the porch. I'm surprised they are still growing! My flowers are fried since the sun beats down on them from 12 to dark! We still have tons of these little bugers growing!!

So this isn't really a small thing... it's kinda like the topper of my summer. Stewart planned a surprise for me a few weekends ago, and I couldn't figure out what he was up to (but don't think I didn't try my hardest :) Since we don't plan on taking a real vacation anytime soon and school is soon to start again, my wonderful husband thought it would be nice to just get away from our house for a night. He always talked about just spending a night together in a hotel here in Twin to give us the feeling of a vacation. Well we stoped at Wendy's first to get some dinner then we went on our vacation!! I was totally surprised when he pulled into the parking lot of the red Lion Hotel! There were flowers and sparkling cider waiting in the room for me! It was a great surprise and it even felt like we were on a real vacation!!

The Little Things....

Antonio Smith stated the quote, "Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." Well my husband Stewart takes this quote quite seriously (even if he doesn't realize it). Yesterday was a good long day and I learned how to do something new... shave calves. Yup! Stew is a professional at it and everyone wants him to come help them at fair time. Well his boss' kids needed some help so I decided to go with him and maybe learn a thing or two. I sure did!! Three stubborn calves shaved and several hours later... I was sore, covered in cow hair, and ready to get some chow. So from Rupert we headed over to Burley and the first stop was to get gas. After Stewart is done pumping the gas he gets in and is so excited and says "I will never be able to do that again! LOOK!!!" Thinking that after the long day we had had and all that we got done with the calves this must be something pretty darn exciting! He backs up the car and rolls down his window, points to the gas tank and says "look, ten gallons exactly. That is something to be proud of."

And proud of it he was... I love this man!

Family

In the past few weeks we have had a ton of family come and visit and we have been bouncing between Dietrich, Twin Falls, and Gooding. We loved seeing everyone we haven't seen in ages! Stewart's aunt Shanon and her family came and visited for a week. We loved playing cards with them. They are the true Napoleon competitors! Stewart's sister in law Debi also came. She brought her two girls Loni and Ada. They were so much fun to have here! Me and Stewart got to adopt Loni for an evening and took her to the little kids rodeo in Shoshone. She loved walking around looking at the animals and playing the games. She was a cutie. Unfortunately I forgot my camera but I snapped a quick picture when we were getting ready to leave. Stewart had thrown Loni on top of the car and she knew exactly how to pose :)

On my side of the family, my cousin Stephani came with her two daughters Gracie and Annabell. It was fun to see them again too! Gracie is such a cute girl and so full of energy! Everytime I pulled ot the camera she posed for it! It was too cute!

Gracie became bolder around my parent's "puppy" dog buddy... he's a holy terror! But was lots of fun to play with! I'm not sure what Gracie is doing here.... uh... mom?? :)

Can you find my wallet?

So... has your husband ever lost his wallet and asked you if you knew where it was? Well, Stewart is pretty good about knowing where his wallet is, but he still had to ask me. He walked into the bathroom and stood in a pretty feminine pose, and said, "hey, I lost my wallet, do you know where it could be? Then he looked down pretty obviously and stood there until I also looked down at his shoes....

Here.. lets make things a little easier :) What a funny husband I have! He buys wallets like Women buy purses!! It's ok... I'm glad my husband has a fashion sense and that he keeps making me laugh day after day!

Old Hair vs New hair!
